Don't let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your creator (Ecclesiastes 12:1)

Our name, A.S.Y.L.U.M. - Actively Serving Youth of Lanier United Methodist Church - defines who we are as a group. The word ASYLUM means a safe sanctuary. This is a place where kids can come, be themselves, grow in their faith walk, have a lot of fun, and serve others. ASYLUM Youth Ministry is for students 6th grade through high school and meets Sunday evenings from 5 till 7 in Modular 1 at the church. We share a meal, play a game, and grow in our faith through worship and study. Join us!

As a part of scouting, a scout must create an Eagle Project. This Eagle Project will better the community. I chose to create my Eagle Project at the church that sponsors my troop. The church that gives my troop a place to host our meetings. Every Monday when I walk down to the troop meetings, I pass a fire pit surrounded with four older benches. Then one day I was passing the fire pit area thinking about an Eagle Project idea, and it just hit me. Fixing the benches would be a perfect project.
