Administrative Council Retreat Recap :
Our Admin Council Retreat took place on Saturday, January 25. The Council members discussed such topics as our vision for the church over the next five years; what is currently working, and how we can improve what is working; challenges facing the church, and how we go about fixing them; changes in our community and field of service; and what stands in the way of our progress.
Our church does a great job creating a friendly, caring, and welcoming environment. In addition, Lanier UMC does an impressive job of supporting local and global needs. With that strong foundation, how do we go about expanding our children’s ministry, our youth ministry, our community outreach, our membership, and expand our facilities at an appropriate pace? We will also be looking at ways we can improve communications, better assimilate new members, and begin growing financial resources for a new building. The expansion of the church website and other church social media sites will be some of tools leading to that improvement. We also need to develop plans to reach out to the growing diverse community around us. We want to develop Lanier United Methodist Church with multiple exciting and welcoming touchpoints – “large enough to serve you, and small enough to know you”.
